The Lush Cosmetics Valentines Collection - 2014

It's crazy to think that Christmas has come & gone & now we're moving onto Valentines day... That said, I'm not complaining, I love a good excuse for new product launches!

Prince Charming - Shower Gel VEGAN (£4.65/100g, £9.25/250g, £15.95/100g) Originally inspired by Adam and The Ants classic Prince Charming this shower gel has morphed itself into the kind of Prince Charming we would find within fairy-tales and Disney Classics. It's colour's a rich raspberry pink & it is primarily scented with Marshmallow Root, Fair-Trade Vanilla & fresh Pomegranate juice - it's delicious. In addition to this yummy cocktail, it's scent include grapefruit, geranium oils and sandalwood. Furthermore, this beauty contains almond oil which is extremely moisturising and nourishing for the skin - it'll be sure to sweep you off your feet!

Love Locket - Bath Bomb VEGAN (£6.95 each)
Inspired by heart-shaped locket necklaces, this bath-bomb contains smaller heart-shaped bath bomb, that’s filled with agar hearts to create a romantic spectacle in the bath. This heart can be broken & so the bomb can be used for 3 baths, which is fabulous value for money. It's scented with uplifting neroli, sensual jasmine and sweet fair-trade vanilla absolute - it's a delicious treat either to be shared, or indulged in alone.

Neon Love - Soap VEGAN (£4.25/100g) This soap was inspired by '12 Months of Neon Love' an artist collaboration by artists Victoria Lucas & Richard William Wheater. The installation began on Valentines Day 2011 & throughout the year & featured lyrics from famous love songs, which were lit up in huge neon-writing and displayed around the town of Wakefield. Hidden throughout this soap are white hearts, similarly to a stick of rock - not only does it look super pretty, but it ensures that each chuck smells as good as the rest! This soap is scented with an uplifting, fruity fragrance. Bergamot and rosewood work together to create a rich scent, whilst fresh figs, passion fruit juice & soya yoghurt nourish & soften the skin.

The Kiss - Lip Gloss VEGAN (£5.75 per item) I'm so happy the Kiss is returning after it's debut last year. This lip gloss is created using the same aerating technique which Lush use for their massage bars, making it light-weight. It's luxurious & contains protective butters including Fair Trade Shea & CupuaƧu. This preservative free tinted lip gloss gives a touch of colour to the lips. It’s so easy to apply you won’t even need a mirror!

Close To You - Massage Bar VEGAN (£5.50 per item) This smooshable massage bar, is inspired by the deliciously & surprisingly vegan Jammy Dodger - it has a soft fondant centre & is scented with Fair Trade Vanilla Absolute, sharing the same scent as Rockstar Soap & Creamy Candy Bubble Bar.

Tender Is The Night - Massage Bar VEGAN (£6.50 per item) This sensual massage bar is returning from last year, however it's been reformulated & no longer has a squishy fondant heart. This massage bar is probably one of Lush's most sensual products, scented with a intoxicating blend of Jasmine, Ylang Ylang & Vanilla. Inspired by F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel Tender is the Night, it's enriched with a solid blend of softening shea butter & murumuru butter.

Products I'd Like To Try #1

Despite drastically trying to reduce the size of my cosmetics stash, I couldn't help myself but think about the products which I'd like to try during the near future. Here are the products which have made my first edit...

Illamasqua: Defined Brows Set (Illamasqua, Eyebrow Cake, Gleam, Angled Brush, £51) Defined brows are the key to finishing any make-up look, they frame the face & lift the eye area. Creating a defined, yet not cakey-looking brow takes practice & finding products which work has proved to be a mission - many of the products I've tried have been disappointing & so I'm hoping this collection will become a staple within my make-up bag!

Manic Panic: Violet-Night, High Voltage Hair Colour (Manic Panic, High Voltage Classic, £10) Purple hair dyes are notoriously difficult to keep purple & having previously used a couple of Manic Panic pinks & being impressed, I'm looking forward to trying this colour.

Sugarpill: Chromalust Loose Eyeshadow (Cutecosmetics, Sugarpill Cosmetics, £8.95) I'm a big fan of fairy-like-shimmering eyeshadows, they make fabulous bases & can also be used to highlight the brow-bone.

Bdellium: Green Bamboo Finishing Brush (Cuteecosmetics, Bdellium, £10.95) This brush is said to create the perfect, light finish with being suitable for blending both face-powders & water-based foundations - decent tools are definitely important when creating a flawless look, so I'm looking forward to seeing what different this eco-friendly, vegan brush can make.

Gwdihw: Muscle Soother Body Lotion (Cutecosmetics, Gwdihw, 250ml, £10.95) I'm always trying to find products which can soothe aching muscles, I spend alot of time on my feet & although my Lush Cosmetics Wiccy Magic Muscles is a Holy Grail product of mine, it's nice to find alternatives.

Lush Cosmetics: Turkish Delight (Lush Cosmetics, Turkish Delight, 200g, £16.25) Ro's Argan is my ultimate go-to but, I thought it might be nice to try something a little different... Turkish Delight has a lovely, almost fluffy texture & is enriched with cocoa butter & almond oil, beautiful!
Bonus fact: Each pot contains 20,000 rose petals.

Which products are on your to-try list?
Have you tried any of the above?

What's your favourite thing about autumn/winter?
Wrapping up! I love being able to layer up my clothes without roasting - it's a great excuse to experiment with different styles of tights/socks.
 ❄️
What's your favourite winter drink
100% Mulled Wine!
❄️
What's your favourite scent/candle?
I'm still burning my Witches Brew Yankee candle from Halloween!
❄️
What's your favourite lipstick for this time of year?
I tend to find that my lips become exceptionally dry during the winter months, so I've been using Lush's Santa Baby Lip-Tint it's a lovely Christmassy red, it tastes like cola bottles & is rich & moisturising - Love it!
❄️
What's your go-to moisturiser?
Undoubtedly, Lush's Celestial Moisturiser: It's soothing; reduces redness & is beautifully vanilla scented.
I highly recommend using it!
❄️
What are your go-to colours for the eyes?
I have to say I'm a fan of bright eye make-up throughout the year, however I'm especially into neon-brights
& glitter during the darker months. I guess it's for that added little sunshine.
❄️
What's your favourite music to listen to this autumn/winter?
I can't say I change my taste in music throughout the year, but in my car I'm currently listening to:
Rob Zombie ::Mondo Sex Head
Placebo ::Black Market Music // Loud Like Love
Does It Offend You Yeah? ::You Have No Idea What You're Letting Yourself In For
❄️
What's your favourite outfit to wear?
I'm a bit of a coat collector, so this is a toughy!
However, the winning item has to be my beautiful faux-fur dalmation coat paired with my purple Hello-Kitty ear-muffs/head-phones - they're a pretty snug combo!
 ❄️
What is your favourite winter fragrance?
I'm a self-confessed fragrance fiend!
This week I've been wearing 'Love' - A Lush, Gorilla Perfume:
Here is how company co-founder Mark Constantine describes it:
Tempting apples & spice will remind you of everything nice about the exhilaration of romance.
“Watching my sons fall in and out of love inspired this perfume, and rather like their relationships, it took quite a while to get right. It is for flirts really, but being a flirt is not something everyone wants to be known for. On the other hand, flirting is so much fun. I have tried to make a perfume that will flirt for you while you pretend indifference. Love is an instantly bright and bubbly fragrance with a vivacious green apple fruit scent and sweet citrus innocence. As the initial burst fades, it's replaced with a sugary sweet apple pie note while maintaining a sharp lift.”
I think it's the perfect festive scent!

Main notes: Lemon, lemongrass, bergamot, apple, cinnamon, cassia, jasmine, rose, ylang ylang
Feels like: that first rush of endorphins
  ❄️
What is your favourite winter food?
mm, a proper good Penne Arribatia  (with extra chilli) it's so delicious & warming & although a somewhat less appetising thought, it's great for shifting the sniffles!
❄️

On a scale of 1-10, how much to do you enjoy Halloween?

What is your fondest Halloween memory?
I have many a fond memory, but I'm going to have to say Halloween '03 when I went out trick-or-treating with my best friend (this is the only time I've been trick-or-treating) anyway, I had witchy-poo'd my general attire & my friend, bless his rather large cotton socks, decided to wear a ghoulish mask & his everyday hoody... As I'm sure you can imagine, we looked like a right pair!
That was funny enough, but what really cracked me up, is each time we knocked on a door, when the occupant answered my friend would simply say RAAWH..
Needless to say, we were onto a winner!

Have you always been a Halloween lover?
Having been brought up to appreciate the darker things in life, listening to bands like The Cure, Siouxsie & The Banshee's & The Sisters of Mercy it would be sinful of me not to enjoy Halloween.
